I have a LOT of hair, and it’s out of control after no haircut for almost 4 months. I found some lovely knit headband patterns on Ravelry, but they were just too fussy knitting back and forth on just a few stitches. So, I came up with this idea.

Knit in the round with cotton-elastic yarn, it’s the perfect pouf controller. One ball of yarn will make several to give to your wild-haired friends. It’s ridiculously easy, and only takes 1-2 hours.

Please note: this pattern will only work with elasticized yarns. The headband will come out way too small with other yarns.

Materials:

• about 20 yards of cotton-elastic yarn
• one 16” circular needle or DPN’s in US size 4/3.5mm, or size to get approximate gauge

Gauge does not have to be exact, but it’s better to have a tighter gauge rather than looser.
