Welcome to my Pandora’s World Blanket crochet pattern,

This versatile pattern can be used to create a variety of pieces.

Designed as a single section of 48 stitches you can repeat each section to achieve a blanket, shawl, scarf, bed runner, table runner or wall hanging…..just to name a few.

The versatility opens up a whole world of creativity for you… a Pandora’s World in fact.

There will be 6 panels and a small joining panel. So 7 patterns in total plus some border base setup and border suggestions.

Each panel has it’s own funky name and you can work the panels in the order here in the pattern, or mix and match as you like.

That’s beauty of Pandora’s World… you can be as creative as you wish.

So let’s go on an adventure together and discover the wonders of Pandora’s World.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Finished Size: Totally customisable for any blanket size, runner, scarf, wrap, wall hanging etc.

You’ll need:

4.5mm and 5mm Hook for 10 ply, 4mm and 4.5mm Hook for 8 ply (for a softer fabric use a slightly larger hook, however this may change your yarn quantities required so be mindful of this)

Yarn needle, Scissors, Stitch Markers, Row counter

For the blanket you will need…..

Yarn: Fiddlesticks Finch 10 ply Cotton 70gms / 105m per ball.

Finch Colours in the sample - Sample is a repeat of 4 sections to get a blanket that is approximately 125cm wide by 150cm high not including the border

Panel 1 - Wattle they Crochet next - Peacock x 4 balls

Panel 2 – Here we go loopy loop - Blue Jeans x 6 balls

Panel 3 – Alpine a day, let’s crochet I say - Sky Blue x 5 balls

Panel 4 – Basket Full of Popcorn - Peacock x 5 balls

Panel 5 – Filet my heart with waves of love - Blue Jeans x 5 balls

Panel 6 – What’s up Buttercup - Sky Blue x 5 balls

Joining Panel – Join me don’t leaf me. Ecru x 4 balls plus panel colours (included in panel yarn count)

35 balls in Total.

Finch All One Colour - 33 balls of 1 Colour

The same quantities are required if you are working with 8 ply but your blanket will turn out a bit smaller.

Border - Pandora’s box, named this as it is up to you to decided how to border your design— I used the remainder of the yarn from the panels with 1 extra ball of Ecru and I used a edging #3 in a book called “Every Which Way Crochet Borders” Sometimes it is best to just do a simple border to let your creation shine on it’s own.

Gauge Swatch:

Please note that your gauge swatch does not have to be exact, however if you are too far out then that may change your yarn quantity requirements.

For a softer finish you can use a slightly larger hook but again it will change your yarn quantity requirements.

Using a 4.5mm hook and your 10ply yarn

CH 22, TR in the 4th CH from your hook (the first 3 CH are your first TR), TR in each ST across. Turn. (20 TR)

CH 3 (counts as the first TR), TR in each ST across. Turn. (20 TR)

Repeat from * to * 10 more times. (there will be 12 rows of TR in total)

Measure your centre ST’s allowing a couple on either side of the tape measure.

14 TR x 9 rows = 10cm x 10cm

There is a table in the pattern of different yarns and quantities you can use to make the blanket, a shawl or a scarf.

There is 26 pages in the pattern with colour photos and a chart for one of the panels. There is also a table of stitch abbreviations and special stitch instructions.

The pattern is written using US terms and UK Terms.
