Pangea Back Scrubber
The Pangea back scrubber crochet pattern is the sister to the chevron soap saver pattern and together the finished items would make a great bathroom set or a valuable addition to a self care package.
The wonderful thing about this pattern is that you can make it as wide or as long as you like to suit your needs.
Skill level: Intermediate
Measurements: The size is adjustable in both length and width but following this pattern will make a scrubber with the following measurements:
Length without the handles: 15” / 38cm approx
Length including the handles: 19” / 49cm approx
Width: 3.75” / 10cm approx
You will need the following:
• 50g / 250 metres / 273 yards of sport weight yarn. I used 100% Hemp yarn or you could use organic cotton or linen but they won’t be as exfoliating. See below for other yarn recommendations.
• 3mm - Metric | 11 - UK & Canada | C-2 - US | 5/0 - Japan
• Scissors
• Darning/Tapestry Needle
Gauge:
20 Double Crochet (U.K. Treble) and 10 rows over 10cm (4”)
Crochet Terms: You will receive two PDFs, one written in U.S crochet terms and another in U.K. terms.
Hemp is the perfect natural fibre for this as it is gently exfoliating and naturally antibacterial, which mean it won’t ever start to smell or go mouldy in the shower. It is also 100% home compostable, so once you feel you have used it to its limit, simply cut it up and pop it into your compost.
Here are some other yarn recommendations that I think would work well:
Lion Brand A Star Is Born: Oh Baby Yarn
LoveCrafts Schachenmayr Organic Cotton
Darn Good Yarn Single Ply Nettle
