The Headband is inspirated by a traditional Sami pattern used at both woven Ribbons and knited Mittens. Kirsti-Synnøve Suongir has made a lot of this traditional Sami patterns known by her book “Samevotter fra Tanadalen”.

I started trying out the pattern in a black and white edition. When I knit its absolutely necessary with a a break fro time to time with a peace of Chocolate and a cup of coffee, especially dark chocolate-hearts from one of the smallest chocolate factorys in the world - Heidis sjokoladedrøm. The chocolate boxes has the most wonderful color-combinations, and they inspired me to try out this traditional Sami pattern in not so traditional colors.

The result is ready, and I hope I have not broken the ethnic traditional tradition too much.
