When I turned 21, my friends and I went to the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the Hancock building in downtown Chicago. The floor-to-ceiling windows revealed a panoramic cityscape, from the lake to the skyscrapers to the not-so-distant trees in the surrounding suburbs. Panoramic reminds the knitter of the swift change from cities to seas to suburbs.
