Paon
Paon: According to The Elements of Heraldry by Mark Anthony Porny (London: J. Newberry, 1765), paon (peacock) “(m)ay serve to represent sublimity, power and grandeur.” In 1310, Jacques de Longuyon wrote Voeux de Paon (Vows of the Peacock), a chanson de geste (song of deeds), which inspired works of art and literature. My Paon Mittens are a nod to times past when a knight wore the colors of his lady fair.
