A leafy lace cowl neck dresses up this simple tunic that knits up quickly in chunky yarn. Instructions are provided for both short- and long-sleeved versions.

For best results, use a yarn with some body. When the lace cowl is knit in a softer yarn, it may need to be tacked down to keep it in place.

The construction method used is the top-down, seamless, simultaneous set-in sleeve method described by Barbara Walker in Knitting From the Top.

Sweater shown is being worn with about 2 inches of positive ease.
