Paperwhite
This winter, our drafty old white farmhouse finally became ready for blown insulation. In the process, a cleaning of the 200 year old attic was necessary. Behind piles of unused things and trash lay a small, yellowed cardboard box. In the box-priceless treasures.
My silver baby bowl, things that were special to my late father. Lastly, a large fabric sack, faded and creased from careful fold lines. This sack was my great, great grandfather’s fire bag. Passed down through generations. My Aunt, typically the collector of all things heritage, graciously gave me her blessing to keep it.
Paperwhite is inspired by the crisp edges of this bag, and the clean lines of heritage stamped into the fabric. I dedicate this to my Aunt Perry- You inspire me with your strength. I love you.
