The Papi Cape is a sweet and simple cape suitable for both boys and girls. I wanted to design a cape to work as a fun cover up on a chilly day and function as a blanket when my sons are in their car seats.

Sizing…
OS for both babies and toddlers, easily adjustable to fit older children. Creating a larger size can be accomplished by using a thicker weight yarn and/or larger needle size. Alternatively, cast on an additional 10 stitches and/or knit additional increase rounds.

Requirements…
Worsted Weight yarn - Approximately 250 yards for a 12.5” cape from neck to waist; or Aran/Bulky yarn in a larger quantity to create a larger size if desired. I strongly recommend selecting a soft, drapey yarn for babies and toddlers; however, you may wish to get a hardy
superwash for the toddler who will enjoy playtime outside in his/her cape.

US 7 20” or longer circular needles; or
size needed to obtain gauge.
