We knit the shawl flat, from the top to the bottom, with a single thread of Scheepjes Secret Garden yarn, with 5 mm (US 8) circular needles.

It’s a pattern for beginner knitters.

All techniques (how to cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, etc.) are explained in details and shown in instructional videos. We shape the shawl into a triangle. I recommend using circular needles (not straight needles) because of the number of stitches at the end of your work. Circular needles will take the weight off your hands which won’t have to hold heavy knit work.

Measurements:
width: 153 cm (before blocking), 175 cm (after blocking)
length measured from the neck (top of the shawl) to the tip of the shawl: 68 cm (before blocking), 80 cm (after blocking)

Materials:
• (interchangeable) circular needles 5 mm (US 8) (regular)
• (interchangeable) circular needles 5,5 mm (US 9) (regular)
• a cable making 60 cm (or longer)
• a row counter
• marker
• tapestry needle, blocking boards, blocking wires and pins

Gauge made flat on needles 5,5 mm (US 9), one strand of Lang Malou Light Color:
17 sts and 25 rows per 10 cm 10 cm / 4’’ in jersey stitch, before blocking.
13 sts and 24 rows per 10 cm / 4’’ in jersey stitch, after blocking.

Yarn:
Estimated Yarn (metres): 465 m.
Scheepjes Secret Garden (20% Silk, 20% Cotton, 60% Poliester; 50 g - 93 m), colours: 1 x 738 Whimsical Topiary, 1 x 706 Falling Blossom, 1 x 707 Summer House, 1 x 701 Hidden Pathway, 1 x 703 Secluded Lake.

Instead of Scheepjes Secret Garden you can use Noro Silk Garden yarn.

Chusta dziergana jest od góry do dołu, pojedynczą nitką na drutach 5 mm (US 8). Oczka są dodawane z każdej strony brzegu chusty i z każdej strony środka chusty. Chustę robimy rzędami, na płasko (raz na prawej stronie robótki, raz na lewej). Zalecam druty z żyłką ze względu na dużą liczbę oczek (= dzianina łatwiej zmieści się na żyłce niż na drutach prostych, poza tym odciążamy ręce, które nie będą musiały dźwigać drutów z dużą liczbą oczek).

Wymiary chusty przed blokowaniem:
szerokość: 153 cm (przed blokowaniem), 175 cm (po blokowaniu)
długość mierzona od karku do szpica: 68 cm (przed blokowaniem), 80 cm (po blokowaniu)

Materiały:
• (wymienne) druty nr 5 mm (US 8) (standardowa długość)
• (wymienne) druty nr 5,5 mm (US 9) (standardowa długość)
• żyłka 60 cm lub dłuższa
• marker liczący/licznik
• marker
• igła dziewiarska do wszycia końcówek nitek
• mata piankowa i szpilki do blokowania gotowej dzianiny – możesz też użyć drutów do blokowania oraz blokerów (np. „Knit blockers” firmy Knit Pro), ale nie są one konieczne

Próbka zrobiona na płasko, na drutach 5 mm (US 8), pojedynczą nitką:
17 oczek i 25 rzędów w 10 cm ściegiem gładkim prawym, przed blokowaniem.
13 oczek i 24 rzędy w 10 cm ściegiem gładkim prawym, po blokowaniu.

Włóczki:
Szacowana ilość włóczki: ok. 465 m.
Scheepjes Secret Garden (20% Jedwab, 20% Bawełna, 60% Poliester; 50 g - ok. 93 m), kolory: 1 x 738 Whimsical Topiary, 1 x 706 Falling Blossom, 1 x 707 Summer House, 1 x 701 Hidden Pathway, 1 x 703 Secluded Lake.
