Paradoxa shawl
Paradoxa is a triangular and asymmetrical shawl. The body of the wrap begins with a small number of stitches and then gradually increases. The pattern is very easy to modulate in a bigger size if necessary.
One of the testers added beads which seems like a brilliant idea to give it a bit of extra weight if so desired.
Yarn weight: Approximately 776 yards/ 700 m. Sport (12 wpi) weight yarn . Yarn used to crochet the shawl in the picture: 660 yards or 700 meters (4 ball, Color 34 Erika, of Garnstudio Drops Baby Merino, 100% wool merino). I think a solid colour or slightly tonal works better for this shawl.
If you use a finer yarn you will simply have to make more rows.
Hook: US size 3.5 mm. (E)
Measurements: After blocking, the longest part of the irregular triangle is 72 inches -182,5 cm.- ( along the tr edge). The part of the last row (along the sc edge) measures 41 inches -101,5 cm.-.
Gauge: 18 st x 7 rows in pattern stitch = 4’’ x 4’’ (10 cm x 10 cm). Check your gauge for best results. If needed you can use a larger hook. After blocking (note that when crocheting it is oblique).
Difficulty: Intermediate. Stitches used include: Chain stitch, Single crochet, Double crochet, Treble crochet, slip stitch. Skill required include working flat Overall.
