Parallel - Better in Red
This pattern can be made with all sorts of yarn. When you pick a yarn, please consider the goal of the project: a wall hanging made with 100% cotton will start sagging and show big “holes” between the blocks, so that’s not a good idea. The corner to corner designs will also show less clear when you work with hairy or fuzzy yarn.
The PDF pattern includes instructions for both colour versions of this blanket.
C2C uses only chain, slip stitch and double crochet (US)/treble crochet (UK), so it’s suitable for beginners
The white example is made with Scheepjes Colour Crafter, which is a gorgeous budget yarn of 100% premium acrylic, with a very soft touch. Colour Crafter is available in 93 beautiful colors. The example blanket is made with 4 balls of white yarn and 4 balls of colored yarn. I made the blanket in 8 colors: green (1062), light green (1034), mustard yellow (1823), fuchsia(1435), light grey (2019), light blue (1725), white (1001) and black (1002)
You will also need a 4 mm hook, scissors, needle, measuring tape and stitch marker.
The red version is made with Scheepjes Scrumptious and Scheepjes Colour Crafter. This blanket measures 115 by 145 centimeter. It’s one strip wider and every strip is longer then the white version of the blanket.
What you need: Scrumptions: 1 ball 301, 1 ball 304, 1 ball 373, 1 ball 333, 1 ball 367, 1 ball 359, 1 ball 309, 1 ball 308, 1 ball 311, 2 balls 362 ( for the blanket and the border)
Colour crafter: 1 ball 2017, 1 ball 2018, 1 ball 1710.
You make this blanket with 4 mm hook, the border with 3,5 mm hook.
If you make the blanket bigger or smaller, you may need more or less than the approximately 800 grams of the example.
