The surface of a cushion panel made with simple stitches can be embellished by working surface crochet across the right side of the fabric. This cushion makes use of variegated yarns for added contrast.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice (100% acrylic, approx. 156m/170yd per 100g/3½ oz ball) Aran (worsted) weight yarn: 2 balls of shade Silver Grey 149 (A)
Lion Brand Landscapes (100% acrylic, approx. 134m/147yd per 100g/3½ oz ball) Aran (worsted) weight yarn: 1 ball of shade Desert Spring 204 (B)
Hook: 6mm (US size J/10) hook
Notions: 63cm (25in) square cushion pad
Cushion cover or fabric to create backing
