The Paris Intrigue Shawl was inspired by the Outlander story in Paris. The fashion and finery of Paris was coupled with intrigue and espionage in the book Dragonfly in Amber and season 2 of the TV series. In 1700s Paris, shawls were worn very long, often draped over the shoulders or arms to dip seductively all the way down the back. Multiple wraps around the neck, coupled with a shawl pin updates this piece to modern day. Crocheted with one skein of Juniper Moon Farm Findley Dappled Yarn (50% merino wool/50% mulberry silk/100g/798yds/730m), this asymmetric, biased shawl is light, soft and easy to make.
The dragonfly shawl pin is by Stephen Willette Fiber Art Tools.
