This is a design for a large spiral shape, which could be a shawl, a rug, or some other decoration, depending on what you make it out of. You can use any gauge and any size hook.

I used medium-weight yarn and a 4mm hook, and it took about 650 yards (about 1-1/3 balls). The finished spiral was about 37x34 inches.
