This is a fun Shawl or Scarf pattern that is just made for the fall (or any time there is a chill in the air). A Parliament of Owls sits on each end. You can change the look of your owls by your choice of eyes.

This even makes a wonderful scarf for any guy in your life that likes owls.

I recommend that you use a solid color yarn for the ends where the owls are located. It is easier to see the owls. The pattern works best for yarn that has a slight ‘fluff’ to it. This pattern is designed to be soft, full of texture, and warm.

SIZE: Small or Large
Small is 3 owls on each end.
Large is 6 owls on each end.

Yardage
Scarf: 762.5 – 905 yds / 698 – 828 m
Shawl: 905 – 1260 yds / 828 – 1152 m

Hook
Fingering or Sport Weight Yarn
US Size H (5.0 mm)

DK or Worsted Weight Yarn
US Size J (6.0 mm)

Buttons for Eyes
You can use any size button that fits in the ‘eye’ space.
12 – for Small (6 owls)
24 – for Large (12 owls)
3/8 – ½ inch or size needed (0.95 - 1.3 cm)

I rated this as an intermediate level pattern because it uses crossed post stitches. There are written instructions, charts, and close-up charts of the crossed post stitches.

Please read through the pattern before you print. The pattern is divided into sections so that you only need to print what you need. There is a Random Information Section at the end which gives you details on the samples that I made when I designed this pattern.
