Parsnips For the Roasting Pan
This is a pattern for a parsnip, scaled to accompany my existing produce patterns. This is another beginner-friendly pattern, requiring small amounts of yarn. The root portion can easily be worked in the round if you desire.
The finished object measures about 6” from top to bottom when using the prescribed needle size and yarn weight.
NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm circular needles or DPNs
Sewing needle
MATERIALS:
5g Cream or White (Aran or Heavy Wstd. Wt.)
Scrap amt. Green (Sport or Light Worsted)
Scrap amt. Brown (Fingering and Worsted)
Poly-fill
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn used for the ROOT is a bit more bulky than recommended for the needles you have chosen. For instance, if using DK weight yarn for the root, use 3mm needles for a tightly knit fabric.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, including stockinette stitch and simple increases/decreases. Basic seaming and embroidery, including chain and straight stitch.
