Named for the genus that produces such familiar vining plants as Virginia Creeper, Boston Ivy and Grape Woodbine, the inspiration for these leg warmers is the bare vining tendrils in winter, set against the slats of a wooden fence. These leg warmers are a great compliment to the cowl, gloves and hat of the same name.

The leg warmer pattern include a boot cuff option, and are written for knitting in cozy worsted weight yarn. The 2x2 ribbing is super stretchy, expanding and contracting to hug the legs. Standard length instructions are included, but length is easily adapted for a more customized fit.

If a larger circumference is needed for the finished item, stitches may be added at the start and end of the rounds in groups of four (2 stitches on each end).

Gauge given is for the ribbing in its relaxed state, with only the knit stitches showing. The finished result will look narrow compared to its actual fit.

Aran or DK weight yarn may be substituted, with appropriate needle adjustment to make gauge. Changing the weight of the yarn used will affect yardage required.
