Inspired by one of my favorite architectural motifs - the Greek Key, or “meandros” pattern - this important symbol from ancient Greece is also found in cultures around the world. It signifies eternity, love, water or waves, and friendship.

Contrasting colors make the design ‘pop’, yarns with metallic highlights can add special sparkle. Using one plain color skein and a contrasting multi-color or speckled color skein make one side appear textured. Its bold design makes this cowl a dramatic addition to your wardrobe for both men and women.

YARDAGE for Sport weight or light-weight DK yarns will vary by manufacturer.
Color A: 310-325 / 620-650
Color B: 310-325 / 620-650

The cowl may be knit in 2 sizes, small - 31.5” x .59” - or large - 63” x 9.5”. (Measurements may vary with difference in gauge and yarns.)

If using other weights of yarns, it is recommended to work a sample of 2 repeats of the pattern, in the round, and measure that gauge. Adjust the number of repeats for the length desired.

An intermediate level ‘double-knitting’ project, with no explanations given in the pattern. A link to on-line instruction is included.
