Crochet pattern for Christmas crown – quick and easy using acrylic DK yarn!

Two sizes are easy to make – just use a different hook size!
Kids size: Finished crown measures 53cm circumference, for children aged 2-11 years old.
Adult size: Finished crown measures 56cm circumference, for teens, adult women and men.
Use acrylic yarn so crown will stretch to 2cm larger.
Pattern includes plenty of photos and optional instructions for inserting elastic to cinch in the crown for smaller heads, with a diagram to help you with insertion.

Designed for confident beginners, the pattern uses chains, single crochet (UK double crochet), double crochet (UK trebles) and decreases. Hooked in the round, the crown has a simple construction with the points added around the top and the edging worked in a metallic yarn.

You will need:
• Any DK acrylic yarn (approx 30g or 100m) – I used either Hobbycraft’s Women’s Institute Premium Acrylic (100% acrylic, 100g/282m) in Light Purple (26684) or Patons Fab! DK (100% acrylic, 100g/274m) in Red (02323).
• Any DK metallic yarn (approx 10g or 30m) – I used Rico Fashion Cotton Metallise DK (53% cotton, 35% acrylic, 12% metallic yarn; 50g/130m) in Silver (04) or Gold (03)
• A 3.5mm (US E-4) hook for the kids size, a 4mm (G/6) hook for the adult size.
• Elastic (optional) (1cm wide, 10cm long)
