Party Girl Cardigan
Please read this before purchasing my pattern (DISCLAIMER)
Due to my cognitive disabilities, I am unable to do e.g. size gradings and coordinate a large test. For this reason, this pattern comes in one size only and in English only. However I am doing my very best to offer a well written pattern and include size modification tips.I have been holding back my designs due to the above, but adventurous knitters have encouraged me to publish my patterns. They tell me, they are able to make their own modifications, and I want to accommodate them with my patterns.
Pay what you wish
I offer my patterns at a variable price structure. I’d like the acknowledgement of the work behind a design, but I also acknowledge that I don’t offer an extensive instruction. So I will let you decide what the right price is for you. Feel free to use the coupons below at check-out.Coupon

YouTube video about design plus other designs
The Party Girl Cardigan is a festive piece of wearable art. The puff sleeves make a statement at any party, and if glitter yarn is added, they become extra festive.
The sleeves are knitted first, then the shoulder and body is formed with rapid increases and short row shaping. Blackberry stitch pattern, two-color honeycomb brioche stitch pattern, slipped stitches, and short rows in garter stitch are the special techniques used. When the two sleeves and shoulder/body are finished with i-cord bind-offs, the two pieces are joined together with a simple back in garter stitch pattern, which is knitted bottom up while at the same time joining the two pieces together.
The size is adjustable by knitting the sleeves slimmer or larger, which will also determine the length of the body.
Size/measurements
This pattern design comes in one size only, however the size of the cardigan is adjustable. Please read the disclaimer on the Ravelry pattern page.
The pattern includes several tips on how to make size modifications. I recommend reading the section Tips on changing the size beforehand.
The pattern also includes the amount of stitches/rounds/rows used in the sample, hence the cardigan can be knitted in the same size as the sample.
The design calls for an hourglass body type, which unfortunately doesn’t include everyone. However you’re welcome to get the pattern for free and make your own adjustments.
Finished measurements
Measurements after washing and blocking.
Bust circumference: 86 cm / 34”.
The finished cardigan fits a bust size of 90-98 cm (because of its stretchability).
Sleeve circumference: 29 cm / 11,5”.
Length of back: 30 cm / 12”.
Yarn and Yardage
Three different yarns / colors are used for the cardigan (use yarnsub.com for substitute yarns):
-
Main color (MC): A handdyed color is used for the foreground of the brioche sleeves and for the first part of the body. Hold 2 strands of fingering weight yarns together for a marled effect. Alternatively use a DK weight yarn. For extra fun; add a thin strand of glitter yarn to the MC in the brioche section. Fingering weight handdyed yarn: 400 m / 420 yards / 100 g. Yardage in the sample: 2 skeins / 800 m / 840 yards / 200 g.
-
Contrast color 1 (CC1): A pop color for the cuffc and i-cords. Use either 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together or a DK weight yarn. Madelinetosh Tosh Merino light (single): color Fluoro rose. 384 m / 420 yards / 100 g. Yardage in sample: 127 m / 160 yards / 33 g.
-
Contrast color 2 (CC2): A brushed yarn in a solid color for the background of the brioche sleeves and for the front and back sections. Mayflower sweet: color 30 is used in the sample. 150 m / 164 yards / 50 grams. Yardage in sample: 240 m / 263 yards / 80 grams.
