A party hat, perfect for birthdays or the New Year! Designed in garter stitch on a stockinette background. Border is seed stitch but the pattern is written so that you may substitute in your own border if you wish.

I recommend size 6 or 7 needles for my patterns because I expect they will be used as dishcloths and they need to be knit slightly more loosely to avoid becoming smelly. I still have good luck with the design showing.

However, you may wish to use smaller needles, such as size 5 if you really want a tight design that pops out. You will get a smaller cloth this way.
