Party Puppy
This sweet pup and their bottle of fizz make a great knit for any special occasion. I named my puppy Buck, as they are holding a bottle of Buck’s Fizz!
The bottle is decorated with a printed “Congratulations” ribbon. Similar ribbons with printed messages are available from most good craft stores or haberdasheries, or you can embroider your own message on the bottle’s label instead.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.25mm single pointed knitting needles (US 3).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, domed buttons for eyes, printed ribbon for the bottle label, bobbins, stitch markers, and metallic gold thread for the top of the bottle.
SIZES
One size only - The puppy is 27cm tall (seated).
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, intarsia colour-work, short rows, and seaming to finish.
