Pasquinel was a character in the James Michener novel Centennial, a French trapper who in the miniseries (played by Robert Conrad) wore an awesome red knitted toque.

This is a straightforward pattern, knit basically as a tube until you begin to decrease. The pattern tells you exactly where to place markers and when to decrease at regular intervals.

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginning knitters. Knitters should be comfortable with knitting, purling and working with circular needles and dpns.

This is a great pattern to perfect those basic skills.

Materials

• 212-436 yds of a worsted weight wool (super wash works well)
• US 5 Circular Needles 16”
• US 6 Circular Needles 16”
• US 6 DPN’s
• tapestry needle
• 7 stitch markers (one should be a different color to mark beg of round)
