passepartout is a scarf that goes with just about everything! very easy to knit in stockinette on a 16 inch circular needle.
in the colorways sapphire-indigo-pea green. magenta, suitable for the “cool color” type, too. the pictured scarf was made from 40 grams (1.4 oz) in each color.
the length of 1.80m (71 inches) is just about right to be wrapped around the neck once or twice.
the yarns used felt quite different to knit with, and with the Green, it occured to me that it perhaps should have been washed before knitting? of course, I ended up not doing that, but who knows, next time….? After washing, it gets much more voluminous and a lot of fluffier - really nice!
EXPLANATION: when using a provisional cast-on, it will later be much easier to graft the scarf, you may choose a differend method if you prefer. after 10-15 cm 4-6 in, it should be closed up, because later it will be much more difficult to get into the tube to hide ends.

passepartout ist ein schal der wirklich zu fast allem passt! ganz einfach rechts rundgestrickt mit einer 40-rundnadel. in den farben sapphire-indigo-pea green-magenta ist er auch was für “kühle” typen. verbraucht habe ich jew. 40g. die länge von 1.80m ist optimal, um ihn einfach oder doppelt geschlungen zu tragen. das garn strickt sich ganz unterschiedlich, beim grün habe ich zum ersten mal daran gedacht, garn vor dem stricken zu waschen! ich habe es dann natürlich doch nicht gemacht, aber beim nächsten mal…? nach der wäsche wird das garn viel voluminöser, flauschiger, super!
noch ein paar erklärungen zur anleitung:
mit einem prov. maschenanschlag ist es später leichter den schal zu schließen, oder du machst es so, wie es dir am liebsten ist.
nach 10-15cm sollte er geschlossen werden, da man später so schlecht in die “röhre” hineinkommt um die fäden zu vernähen.
