Passiflora sweater
Straight or A-line silhouette sweater with ~4% of positive ease and contrasting pattern worked with short rows.
Yoke is worked sideways in Garter using short rows and then sewn together (for children sizes up to 6-7 years design includes button). I-cord applied along the neckline.
Then raised back-neck is shaped. Main body (A-line silhouette includes darts starting from the adult size 3; also, pattern includes instructions for waist shaping for straight silhouette). Sleeves (straight or bishop) are worked bottom-up in Stockinette.
YARN: winter content: merino wool, wool, blended yarn ~400m/437yds per 100g/3.5oz in two contrast colors.
NEEDLES:
- Yoke and edging: 3mm/US 2.5(or size to get gauge in Garter) circulars on a 60-80 cm/24-32” cable;
- Main: 3.25mm/US 3(or size to get gauge in Stockinette) circulars on a 60-80 cm/24-32” cable; 3.5mm/US 4.
GAUGE (PER 10 * 10CM/44” SQUARE AFTER WET BLOCKING)*
• In GARTER STITCH – 25 stitches by 26 garter ridges (52 rows) (pay attention to row gauge, it’s crucial for yoke fit!) - 3mm/US 2.5 needles. Stitch gauge could be 24-23 sts, but the yoke will be a bit longer (this is included in calculations)
• In STOCKINETTE – 24 stitches by 34 rows -3.25/US 3 needles
