Pastiche: n. Fr Artistic composition made up of bits from various sources.

One day I was fiddling around with some graph paper, seeing if I could figure out a couple of different traditional knitting patterns that caught my eye. I doodled them all on the same paper, and then realized that I kind of liked them together, so I ran them together all in one big mash-up, and then knit them up in this hat pattern.

You will need size 7 knitting needles, circular and DP and about 120 yards of black and white yarn, each.

Thank you to the members of my Fair Isle knitting group, who assured me that I should write up these patterns, because other people might like to knit them.
