The stitches in this headband look like a basket. My mom’s bakery business she ran from home twenty years ago was called “The Pastry Basket,” so it’s paying homage to hardworking women running their own businesses.

This pattern has instructions for a closed headband that slides over your head, but it also includes directions for adding a button and a button hole to make your headband open.

I designed this headband back in 2019, had it tested by other crocheters, and published it on Etsy. Since then, I have designed other crocheted items and posted them to Instagram, but never published them. Now I have decided to offer part of this pattern for free on my website www.lydiashomestead.com with the entire PDF pattern here on Ravelry for a small cost.

This headband is great for Spring weather. I originally made it in acrylic, but cotton or wool would also work as long as you meet gauge. I am hoping this will be the start of my crochet and knit designs!
