Patamanta
Patamanta collection now includes Thumbhole Sleeve Mitts & Legwarmers, and a buttoned flap pouch, as well as original chullo-- 3 essential Andean style accessory patterns in one download!
Patamanta is a word spoken from the Quechua people of the Andes, meaning “from the top“ and the namesake is truly relevant, as the original chullo came from high in the Andes Mountains, given to my brother who wore it for decades (eventually wearing it out), and at last bringing to me to knit over.
The pattern is my interpretation of the original chullo.
Pattern includes instructions for a chullo hat with earflaps (or without earflaps), knit in-the-round, and includes seven sizes and with single or double yarn, also a gauge substitution chart to the quarter-stitch increments, so that you can make a chullo to fit just about everybody you know, with heirloom yarns from your stash, or your very own hand-spun!
Patamanta has been augmented into a collection around the chullo …
