Patchwork Cables Socks
Cozy and perfect for snuggling into as the weather gets cooler, the Patchwork Cables Socks are the perfect mix of ventilating lace and cozy cables scattered across the knitted fabric. You may notice that there seems to be a row missing from the patterning, but that is an intentional nod towards the beauty of imperfection in handmade items. (Plus, I just loved the way it made a slight difference to the overall design in the finished lace.)
The pattern includes variations for both options and uses a short-row heel along with a standard wedge toe, but feel free to substitute your favorites as needed.
This pattern is written for 6 sizes: Baby – Adult L, however, the length is very easy to adjust. To create a customized fit, just select the appropriate circumference and knit to appropriate length.
This purchase is for the single sock pattern only. Please visit the 2021 Indie Sock-a-Long page and register there if you are wanting to receive this pattern & have a new sock pattern emailed to you the first Saturday of each month in 2021.

The needle size listed is the needle size I regularly use, but I am a very loose knitter so you may need to go up 1-2 needle sizes to get a fabric that you like. Most knitters do well with US size 2 (2.75 mm) & if you are a tight or newer knitter you may want to try a US size 3 (3.25 mm). If you know your standard needle size for sock knitting, use that instead of what I have listed (the size that gives you gauge).
Make sure that your beginning of round marker is different from your other markers so you can tell the difference. Locking markers are recommended.
