How to make the patchwork cushion

This finished cushion has a patchwork effect which I created by using one solid colour for the last row of squares. It is very simple to make. I made it oversized but once you understand the way the cushion is made you can make it into any size you like.

This might be a bolster cushion which would look very smart on a window seat, a small pretty version for your bedroom or a bright multi coloured cushion for a child’s play room.

Materials
I used double knit but you could also use a chunky or Arran weight wool which would make larger motifs.
