Patchwork Hooded Cardigan
Men’s Crochet PDF Pattern, Patchwork Hooded Cardigan
Skill Level: Intermediate
US Crochet Terms
I am not going to lie to you, this is a big project. At 21 pages this may be the longest pattern I have ever or will ever write. BUT, there is nothing complex in there, just lots to do.
This crochet pattern is for a menswear cardigan, made to resemble patchwork and multicolours. The construction is in stages
- Bodywork
- Button and Button Hole bands
- Hood, Collar or Both
- Sleeves
It is made with Double Knit (DK) yarns and a 4.5mm crochet hook. The finished tension is soft and very comfortable to wear.
The front and back are made of four pieces sewn together. The collar/hood is made of crochet squares, and there are written instructions and a diagram for this. There are instructions for an optional inner hood as well. Sleeves are made separately and sewn on. Sleeves taper to a nice fit around the wrist.
There is a photographic guide on all elements of the design, especially focusing on any special construction. Special Stitches are clearly described.
There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so the sizing is only approximate. I have listed this pattern as “intermediate” because of pattern techniques. You are purchasing the .pdf pattern only, which includes full written instructions. One purchase gives you all sizes.
