A garter stitch blanket using mitred shapes to create a patchwork look blanket. Size is suitable for a baby or toddler but the pattern is easily made bigger.

The pattern works with any smooth 8 ply yarn but you could also use 10 ply but you would get a larger blanket. Use a limited palette of colours or go wild with your stash or leftovers to create a unique blanket.

There are only a few short seams to sew up (and maybe a few ends) as one shape is knitted onto another. A fully seamless alternative is also included.

The pattern includes a template so you can plan out your own colourway.

Due to its’ mitred construction this is a sturdy blanket that will not stretch out of shape - great for a baby to lie on or a toddler to cuddle with.

The pattern provides information of the amount of yarn needed for each shape so you can use up your leftovers.

The pattern is quite long as it provides detailed instructions for each piece, but you may find that after the first two strips that you don’t need the detailed instructions.
