----- “Patchwork Pineapple” Square -----

These squares are great stash busters.

• Written in US terms.

• Using worsted 4 weight yarn and a size J hook, each square uses approx. 30 - 32 yards of yarn.

• Yarn used: Caron Blossom Cakes in “Passion Fruit”.

• Hook size: J.

• (Any weight yarn along with a suitably sized hook can be used. Square size will of course be
determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)

• When using Caron Cotton Blossom Cakes and a size J hook, squares measure approx. 6.5” × 6.5”.

• Stitch count of squares = 21 stitches per side.

• Squares are worked back in forth in ROWS, THEN worked in ROUNDS to complete the border.

For my sample blanket, I joined my squares using a SC tight join. The yarn I used for joining the squares is Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Blush along with a size J hook. The BORDER is 1 round of SC all around, with SC, chain 2, SC in the corners. Then 1 round of Moss/Linen Stitch all around, with SC, chain 2, SC in the corners.

~~ Rick Rack Border ~~ Working on the foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch. Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS, DC, SS in next chain 1 space. Continue all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER. SS = Slip Stitch.
