Pathways beanie
This is a brioche beanie pattern with a twist - the pattern is entirely randomised by dice rolls and so every beaniewill be unique. It is the third of the Pathways collection of randomised brioche knits. (psst the next will be a scarf)
The pattern consists of a patterned brim paired with a plain brioche body. This beanie is reversible - because of the nature of the brioche stitch, the brim provides you with two different patterns at the cost of one. Choose wisely, if you commit to adding a pom pom to it!
One full skein of the Main Colour and one mini skein of the Contrast Colour will make you this beanie and enough to spare for a pom pom that matches. It is one size fits all, the stretchy brioche stitch makes it comfortably fit larger heads but not too loose on smaller ones.
I’ve included two sets of instructions. One set of instructions are detailed and outlines stitch by stitch, the other set of instructions gives an overview for knitters like me who are impatient and lose track of where I am in a pattern easily.
Also included is an explanation of the basic principle - it should equip you with the understanding of how the pattern works and thus how you can customise the width of the beanie or the variations in the pattern!
If you’re a D&D player or just like nice dice like me, now is the time to pull them out and roll it without having to wait for the next session!
Samples are knit with the following yarn from Little Bird Makes (an Australian indie dyer)
- Fork in the Garbage Disposal (multicoloured) in Decadence DK
- Chough Off (black) in Decadence DK
