These socks are inspired by the color changes of aged patina, and the intricate beauty of ironwork. I thought this would be a fun sock design that can combine the beauty of hand dyed yarns with the colorwork design, in a simple, yet engaging pattern.

Socks are written for one size, determined by the stitch count of the colorwork charts. You can scale the size up or down by using larger or smaller needles, or slightly thicker or thinner yarn.

Two needles sizes are recommended for knitting these socks: bigger size for the colorwork sections, and smaller size for the rest of the sock.

These socks will be best executed in a two highly contrasting yarns. You can choose a solid, semi-solid, variegated, or speckled yarn for the background (MC), and a high contrasting solid for the colorwork/heel/toe (CC).
