This is an easy one. If you can knit and purl, you can make this star square!

I designed this one with a particular charity in mind: a local hospice gives patriotic-themed blankets to veterans. I wanted to include some stars in mine, and I am encouraging friends to make some squares, and hoping we will get a bunch made and then put them all together into blankets.

I can actually get about 2.5 squares out of each skein of Encore, but I suggest having 100 yards of yarn just in case. Better to have too much than not enough!

Obviously, you could use other weight yarns for other sizes of squares.

And obviously, it’s not necessarily a “patriotic” star; it’s a star of many potential colors and uses!
