When I saw the newest Unraveled Designs & Yarn installment in the Jimmy Beans Wool Micro Brewed Series, I knew I had to knit with it! This limited-edition colorway is called “Expecto Patronum” in honor of the Harry Potter books (an obsession of Rachel’s and mine, along with many of you, I’m sure!), and so I felt drawn to create a shawl in tribute to Harry’s Patronus, a stag.

The yarn sold out in just one day! Stay tuned - I’ll have info here on where/when you can get more!

The shawl starts with just 3 stitches and grows into a long isoceles triangle, with stag cables along the bottom edge and a lovely lace edging that mimics the antler shape of the cables. It’s perfect for using that special skein of sock yarn, or grab 2 skeins and make a really large, warm shawl (guidelines are included in the pattern to make it as large as you like). However you do it, it’s sure to keep Dementors at bay! (But you should probably keep some chocolate nearby, just in case - wink!)
