My Grandma Marjorie was quite the artistic one. She was an amazing artist who also worked as an engineer for a time on submarine schematics until she settled down and started a family. She spent most of her career working in the Administration office of Barrington College in Rhode Island. I’d like to think she’d have enjoyed a good vest in her wardrobe. I can almost picture her wearing this, sitting in the office behind a typewriter.
She loved to knit and even came up with her own designs long before the days of self publishing on Ravelry! She passed away when I was young before my days of knitting began. I’d like to think if she was alive now, how nice it would be to sit and knit together!*
This vest is worked in 3 pieces. Front Right, Left and the Back piece. The Herringbone stitch creates a structure with a bit of stiffness, and fitted look.
