Paulina
The inspiration for Paulina came from an unexpected place: a recycling project involving a very VERY bulky yarn reclaimed from a not-so-loved sweater. This yarn, as per Paulina’s request, was to be turned into a poncho with a nice texture. The result can be viewed in my projects as “Paulina’s poncho”. The texture was achieved by a very simple lace stitch. While trying out some twists and turns in scrap yarn I noticed how amazingly different the stitch worked in a different yarn weight. So after the super-chunky poncho I went clear across to the other end of my yarn spectrum, to a very pretty 4-ply sock yarn that had already told me it didn’t want to be socks :-)
To add interest I paired the very simple lace stitch with a leaf pattern and an uncomplicated but pretty border and presto!
For the (slightly) adventurous knitter, the pattern can be customised to alter the border width and it contains all the info to do so easily.
The pattern is both written out and charted and it’s available through my Etsy shop.
