Knitting Pattern for a cardigan with diagonal stripes in garter stitch and a double knitted button band in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.

Structure:
The cardigan is worked in one piece with raglan increases top down. But here comes the big difference: In comparison to classic raglan-set-ups, the raglan lines are rotated by 45 ° to create diagonal stripes meeting in the middle of front and back and in the middle of the sleeves. The stripes are worked in a contrast colour and in garter stitch to emphasize the design set-up.
First, the double folded collar is worked in 1x1 ribbing, Then, the yoke is shaped with raglan increases. As soon as the required number of stitches for each size is reached, the sleeves are separated from the body and the body is finished in one piece, until the tip of the triangle on front and back has the desired length. Then, the spaces on both sides of the cardigan (under the armpits) are “filled” with stitches. Finally, a hem in 1x1 ribbing is attached to the body of the cardigan. The sleeves are finished following the same logic as for the body. Then, the double knitted button band is attached to both front parts and the buttons are sewn to the button band. The fit of the cardigan is slightly oversized and boxy due to the special construction of the yoke. The sleeves are intended to be relatively tight. The high neckline adds a cool and jacket-like look to the cardigan design. The length is relatively short, but of course it can be adapted individually. You then might need more or less yarn than indicated in the pattern.

Level of difficulty: medium to advanced due to the construction
