This pattern is designed specifically for Götz Little Kidz dolls. It may not fit other dolls without adjustment to stitch and row counts.

Buttonholes are worked at each end of row to provide placement of buttons or for putting buttons on other side for a boy’s sweater, if used as a cardigan.

It may help to know that buttonholes alternate colors. So Buttonhole 1 is in the neck ribbing, 2 is in the dark WS row, 3 is in the light WS row, etc., ending with light right above bottom ribbing.

The newer version has a row/round of Color A before beginning the ribbing. This makes for a neater transition from stockinette to ribbing.
