Please note: Tunisian crochet in the round requires a double-ended hook - one with a hook at each end.

Update to pattern on March 16 - Tunisian crochet in the round charts!

Tunisian crochet in the round creates beautiful colorwork. Working in two colors, one tonal and one variegated, creates an effect of tiny colorful pavers laid in even rows. Designed to dip down and cover the throat, the Paving Cowl also creates an effect of warm necks. Work a matching set of mitts with the Paving Mitts pattern, also by Ellen M. Silva.

Cowl is constructed with a set of double decreases at center front to create a bib-like effect, followed by a section where front shaping continues along with neck shaping at the back of the cowl. The cowl is finished with a section worked as a straight tube to the desired depth.

Video tutorials, including several prepared by the designer to teach the needed techniques for her Paving Mitts pattern, are listed in the pattern.
