Choose either fish or bones to ring the cuff of this simple stocking. Knit in the round from the toe up, it features a short-row toe and heel in contrasting colors. An all-over diamond pattern adds texture. The bones and fish are knit separately and sewn on later.

THE BASICS

• Approx. Finished Dimensions: Overall Length: 11” (28 cm) Width: 4 ½“ (12 cm)

• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms

• Instructions are for knitting in the round on double pointed needles

• Knit from the toe up with a short-row toe and heel.

• Gauge: 24 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)

• Knitting skill level - INTERMEDIATE

• I-cord

• Short Rows

• Basic sock construction

SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED

• Approx. 100 yds (91 m) sport weight yarn in Main Color

• Approx. 52 yds (47 m) sport weight yarn in Contrast Color

• Set of U.S. size 4 (3.5 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge

• One U.S. size 5 (3.75 mm) needle for I-cord bind-off or one size larger than gauge needle

• Set of U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm) straight needles for fish and bones

• Crochet hook for provisional cast on

• Stitch marker
