Pax Celtica
The heather and the bracken are blooming, bird song fills the air, and magic emanates from every tree and rock inviting philosophical musings on the wonders of nature and offering the gift of Celtic peace. Scotland’s historical landscape inspired this pattern. Made in the traditional manner, three styles of cable meander in harmony from the ribbed and cabled cuff to the toes; one traditional, one ribbed and one twisted stitch panel that tapers to a heart shaped conclusion. You need not be in a pipe band or even own a kilt to appreciate the timeless elegance of Pax Celtica, or to benefit from the comfort of hand made woollen socks…Made, with love.
Sizing note: Men’s medium, or to fit men’s shoe size 8-11. These have a fair bit of give and can be easily customized by adding* or subtracting pattern repeats in the leg and foot areas. extra yarn will be required.
These would also fit a women’s large and could be sized down by using smaller needles and an even finer yarn.
Colour used was no. 96, Slate Blue
Amount: 2 balls (50g each). Actual amount used was 355m!
The pattern is written out, but charts are also provided for reference, and for those who prefer charts for cables.
I hope that you enjoy this pattern.
