It is written for three different yarn thicknesses, so you can choose just about any yarn you would like to work with, from medium worsted to super bulky. The baby-modeled one is worsted, and the bumpy textured one is the well-loved Lion Brand Homespun.

You can decide whether to keep it simple with just the outer pointed pea pod, or knit the stem and sepals and tendrils in a contrasting color. Lots of room for your own creativity.

Also included are instructions for knitting a ball in tennis ball or grapefruit sizes, so you can have little peas to position inside or out of the cocoon.
