The pattern gives you 4 options for the head circumference (XS: 21’’, S: 22’’, M: 23’’ and L: 24’’) and 2 options for the diameter of the top (~10’’ and ~11’’). For the 10’ top you’ll need 140-165 yards and for the 11’ top you’ll need 175-200 yards.
The sample is knitted in size S with the ~10’’ diameter top. (For size L, knit the ~11’’ diameter top. However, if you prefer, you can knit the larger top also for the smaller sizes.)
