Peace Like a River Scarf (Indian Cross Stitch)

UPDATED PATTERN with errata corrected published 8/29/14!
This stitch pattern, called Indian Cross Stitch, reminded me of a river current with waves. I took the stitch pattern from newstitchaday.com and made a scarf for a friend going through the slow passing of her mother, praying that she would be flooded with “peace like a river” as she grieves through this painful process.
Check out http://newstitchaday.com/?s=indian+cross+stitch to watch a video for how to make this easy, yet unique stitch.
The scarf is quick and easy, brainless knitting -- something you can do while chatting or listening to a good audiobook.
Enjoy!
