Peace Mittens
The Peace-Mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up, with a ribbed cuff and a stranded-colourwork-motif in the middle.
Left- and right leaning decreases are building the top, then stitches are picked up to work an afterthought thumb.
These mittens are a women’s size M, but can be easily adjusted to other sizes. By knitting 2 extra stitches at the sides, using thicker yarn and larger needle you will knit a size L. Using thinner yarn and smaller needles, than the recommended size, and/or 2 stitches less at the sides, you will obtain a size S.
8 sts in stockinette stitch should give you 5 cm, after blocking.
You can knit with Aran-weight wool, or with two sock-weight yarns, hold together.
This pattern is a great stash-buster for leftovers from larger projects. You only need around 55gr for the main- and 20 gr for the contrast-colour.
This pattern will be for free only until the end of march.
