“Life is like a mirror. Smile at it and it smiles back at you.”
― Peace Pilgrim

“Every good thing you say, every good thought you think, vibrates on & on & never ceases.”
— Peace Pilgrim

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From 1953 until 1981, a silver haired woman calling herself only “Peace Pilgrim” walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. Wearing a blue tunic and carrying just a few worldly possessions in her pockets, she shared her simple but profound message in thousands of communities throughout the U.S.: “when enough of us find inner peace, our institutions will become peaceful and there will be no more occasion for war.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The story of Mildred Lisette Norman has fascinated me from the moment I discovered it … her important message has lived on long past her physical life … may you find & share peace while on your own journey

The Peace Pilgrim Socks pattern is knit cuff down with a heel flap & gusset construction. The toe is finished off using Kitchener Stitch. There are many tutorials available for this online; my go-to is Tin Can Knits which can be found here link text

The peace symbol is knit on the front leg, back leg or both! The motif is available both written & charted.
